Chattanooga Communities

The heart of the city is the downtown area. People not only go to work downtown, but they live and play there as well. Realizing the importance of our downtown, revitalization of the area began in the mid 1980?s as the result of goals set by both civic leadership and citizen planning. The outcome was and continues to be spectacular. A multitude of activities are hosted in and around downtown that run a wide range of interests and takes many forms. Its public spaces are of superior quality and we are proud of our downtown on the river where our heritage began and has now returned.
